THE STORY OF LAURA SUSANNE MOTE
On September 30th, 2003, all the kittens in the world woke up from their never ending clumber and started to walk toward 1736 River Run Drive. A cat lover was born just seconds before, and her name was Laura Susanne Mote.
According to all the kittens in the world, Laura was the most wonderful, awesome, and cat loving human being in the whole, wide world. The Parents of this wonderful baby said that she was the nosiest baby they had ever seen, and that she loved kittens at first sight. As she grew, her love for kittens also grew. Her parents watched her grow from a newborn to almost a teenage girl, and she has had funny stories all along the way.
Laura's first year of life was full of adventure. Her family and friends began calling her Booboo. The name just stuck, and she is known by it to this day. During this first year Booboo learned to sit up all by herself, crawl, walk, and eventually run. Her favorite past time was riding her little, wooden horse with shiny, red wheels all around the house. The kittens learned quickly to get out of the way.
At two years of age, Laura sang, "Bah, bah black sheep have you any wool?" and when she got to the part that says, "One for my master, one for my dame," she would exclaim, "That's not fair!" which does not make sense because it is fair! She also became a big sister, as her little brother Noah came into the world. Her life was forever changed by this new addition. The kittens in the world weren't quite as impressed with Noah.
At three years of age, she was known as "The Cake Stealer," because at anyone's birthday she would sneak and put her little fingers into the cake and take a bite before it was time. She also was an avid swimmer, jumping off the diving board and swimming underwater with no floaties. The kittens did not join in, but they loved to see Laura dive.
Laura's little life was almost cut short at age four when she choked on a carrot. At first it did not seem like a big deal, but fluid started to build in her tiny lungs, and she got very sick and had to be life-flighted to UC Davis for an emergency surgery. Finally they removed the carrot from her lungs. And all the kittens in the world rejoiced that she would make a full recovery.
As five rolled around life was rolling smoothly, she had moved into a new, luxurious house with an upstairs, a swimming pool, and a hot tub. That same year, Laura started school at Edgewater Elementary. (P.S. the kittens followed her there every day.)
When Laura was six, when got her adenoids out for the second time because they had grown back, which was not all that common. Needless to say, there is something special with this Kitten Loving Kid.
A week after the fourth of July, this seven year old girl went on a little trip with her Papa and Nana to Twin Falls, Idaho, to pick up a new puppy. The world of cats was a little jealous as they waited for her return. The dog they brought home was an Australian Sheppard named Liberty, because she was born on the Fourth of July.
In her eighth year of life, Laura had her best school year ever as she met her teacher, Mrs. Lizardo. This delightful teacher, who was a fellow cat lover, taught her to carry the one and to behave in school. She also got her annoying, but wonderful, braces that year which we all know can be a life changing experience (have you ever seen kittens with braces?).
And now that she in nine, she still adores kittens, has a loving family, and a life full of great memories. Now this story must come to a close, but it is just the beginning for this wonderfully nosey little girl we call, Laura Sue. (She is the cat's meow!)
